Arsenal ‘to block Alexis Man City move’, Chelsea ‘target Insigne to replace Hazard’
It must be terrible being Alexis Sanchez. You have to make ends meet on just £130,000 a week, you only won one trophy last season and both your best friends in the world are dogs. But it gets worse, unbelievably. Because now, to add insult to these various injuries, the Arsenal forward is going to have to sign for Bayern Munich.
The Mirror reveals that the hapless Chilean fears the Gunners will “block” his proposed move to Manchester City because they are determined not to sell him to a Premier League rival, leaving Bayern as his “only escape route”.
The Germans are willing to pay him around £200,000 a week, which is much less than the £280,000 City would give him. It’s just so unfair.
Alexis will also have no chance of winning the Premier League if he moves to Bayern, instead having to focus on silly competitions such as the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
It’s difficult to find any crumb of comfort for Alexis to take from this proposed move to one of the world’s greatest clubs. But, if there is one, it’s that if he moves to Bayern, at least he won’t have to play for Arsenal anymore.
Once he’s left, it appears the Gunners would like to replace Sanchez with Alexandre Lacazette. At least, they did until they realised how much he would cost.
In the past year, the French striker has been valued at £30m, £40m and £50m (in that order). Now the Express says his club, Lyon, have demanded £60m following “fresh talks” over a potential transfer to north London.
Oh, and he’s also repeatedly stated his desire to move to a Champions League club. Maybe Arsene Wenger should have just held on to Yaya Sanogo a bit longer.
Chelsea have identified Lorezno Insigne as the man to replace Eden Hazard, says the Sun. The Blues are plotting a £45m move for the Napoli forward as they brace themselves for a “massive bid” from Real Madrid for Hazard, who is apparently still wanted at the Bernabeu despite being injured.
Insigne could be one of several new faces at Stamford Bridge, as Blues manager Antonio Conte reportedly plans a “revamp”. The Mirror says Conte wants to add Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti and Juventus pair Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro to the squad that just won the league. Never happy that guy, is he?
Elsewhere, Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is an £8.8m target for Spanish side Real Sociedad (Mail), Everton are eyeing a “shock move” for Pogba – but it’s not Paul, it’s his brother Florentin, the 26-year-old Saint Etienne defender (Talksport) and West Ham’s £7m bid for Eupen’s Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru has been rejected because his Belgian side believe the 20-year-old deserves to move to a “prestigious club” (Football London). It’s almost as if they have never even heard of the famous Academy of Football.
