Dad releases first photo of baby after ‘womb raiders took her from mum’s body’
A young father has shared the first image of his newborn baby after he was removed from his allegedly murdered mother’s womb.
Savanna Lofantaine-Greywind was eight months pregnant with her first child when she disappeared without a trace on August 19.
Eight days later, kayakers discovered her body wrapped in plastic floating down the Red River in Fargo, North Dakota.
After noise complaints from neighbours, a newborn baby was also found alive in the same apartment building where the 22 year old was last seen.
Brooke Lynn Crews, 32, and her boyfriend William Henry Hoehn, 38, were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and providing false information to law enforcement.
After a life that started in the most tragic of circumstances, little Haisley Jo was reunited with her father Ashton this week.
“I was just overwhelmed with joy,” he told local media.
“It was a very beautiful service befitting of Savanna. It was wonderful that Haisley Jo was able to spend those moments along with her family, as well.*
Savanna’s parents described their new granddaughter as “beautiful” as they grieved the loss of their daughter.
Hoehn and Crews have been held in custody and neither has entered a plea at this stage.
